New Dory Red 2019. A toast to the 10 years of the atlantic red by AdegaMãe

October 19, 2020

The Dory Red, AdegaMãe first wine (debut edition at 2010 harvesting season), celebrates his tenth editon, with 2019 harvest. Already available at the market, it follows the course of the most simbolic brand of the house, “Dory”. A tribute to the ancient fishermen of codfsh.

With references of great elegance, marked by the atlantic freshness, Dory Wines have been imposing itselves by its versatility and gastronomic potential, building a reputation of huge quality and value on the segment. The new Dory Red 2019 evokes that path, presenting an important novelty: the introduction of Pinot Noir on the blend, which gives it an even more elegant profile.

At the same time, inserting this grape variety is quite simbolic: if the very first Dory 2010 was exclusivly done with the grapes existing at the state which is today AdegaMãe, this 2019 harvest is the paradigm of all path of  the evolution experienced. Today, the best red grapes from Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Syrah varieties came from the most continental terroir from Alenquer. From the atlantic AdegaMãe vineyard, in the meantime reconverted almost exclusively for the production of the most noble white wines of the state, the exception arises: the Pinot Noir, which closes the blend of the new Dory Red 2019, reinforcing all its elegance.

“The variety we removed from the blend was Merlot. Our new Pinot Noir vineyeard, thanks to the cooler climate, it is proving to be and excelent source of prime materia to some of the new wines we are developing. This variety has a very interesting character in this atlantic terroir and has imposed itfself clearly to what is our interpretation for a Lisbon red wine: elegant profile, fresh and uncomplicated, very versatile and appealing wine. In short, this is our Dory Red.”, explains the winemaker Diogo Lopes
